Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Shreekrishna Akilesh, DMD, MPH
Dr. Shreekrishna Akilesh received his DMD degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his Pediatric Dentistry residency at the University of Connecticut. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and has served as a consultant for the board. Dr. Akilesh also served as a lead clinical educator for several DentaQuest funded projects including the Four-State Fluoride Varnish Initiative, and the Oral Health 2014 Rhode Island Initiative. Currently, he is the Associate Program Director for the Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry Program for Lutheran Medical Center’s Arizona Region, comprised of two sites in Phoenix and Tucson. In addition to this he works part-time in private practice in Phoenix. His areas of interest include early childhood caries, caries prevention, and disease management.
Dr. Marina Nquyen, DDS
Dr. Nguyen was born in Vietnam, and moved to the United States when she was a teenager. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Florida and her Doctor and Dental Surgery degree at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Nguyen spent eight years in private practice in the metro Atlanta area serving the underprivileged population. She then went back to complete her two-year pediatric dental residency at Lutheran Medical Center- Southern California and became a pediatric dentist.
Dr. Nguyen’s mission is to provide specialized and comprehensive dental healthcare for infants, children, adolescents, and individuals with special needs in a fun, friendly, and safe environment. She looks forward to using her extensive training to provide the best possible care for her patients and always treats all of her patients as if they were her own children.
When Dr. Nguyen is not practicing her passion of pediatric dentistry, she spend most of her time with her husband and her two children.
Dr. Jerry Pearson, DDS
Dr. Pearson Started his early career as a military trained ICU/medivac flight nurse. After completing his service to the military, he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Ultrasound and Sonography. He served as acting director of the OB/GYN ultrasound school at the medical college of Georgia. During that time, he performed research and lectured nationally on the subject. Dr. Pearson has also completed a master’s degree in healthcare administration. Dr. Pearson later moved to Portland Oregon where he served as the director of Radiology of Oregon Health Science University.
Dr. Pearson decided to change fields but also continue his passion for helping others as a healthcare practitioner by entering dental school. He graduated in the top 1/3 of his dental class in 1999. He entered a private pediatric practice in Oregon practicing for a year before deciding to move to Phoenix. Dr. Pearson has been practicing as a general dentist working to bring beautiful smiles to the children of phoenix for over 15 years. Dr. Pearson is passionate and dedicated to the cause of improving oral health to the children of Arizona and making every visit a fun and pleasant experience for his patients and their parents.
Dr. Pearson is an evaluator for the Arizona Dental Board for Oral Conscious Sedation and has Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Dr. Jason Brady, DMD
Jason Brady, DMD (Dentist Anesthesiologist) started his career as a civil engineer designing subdivisions and site plans for commercial buildings. He completed his undergraduate dental degree at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2010. During dental school he created and implemented an electronic materials request form, quality assurance program and database, and programs to track correspondence between clinical disciplines.
Dr. Brady completed a 26-month hospital and private practice-based residency in Anesthesia at the University of California Los Angeles in 2012. Dr. Brady is a member of the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists and of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology(ADSA) and is a Diplomate of both the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Brady is a director for the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Brady is involved with education and holds an adjunct faculty position in the department of Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics at the Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California. Dr. Brady serves as an Attending in Anesthesiology for the New York University – Lutheran Medical Center Dental Anesthesiology Program. He teaches IV sedation at the Oregon Health and Science University. Dr. Brady is often called to give lectures at various organizations throughout the United States, Europe and Canada. Dr. Brady is assistant director for the simulation courses hosted by ADSA. Dr. Bracy practices office-based mobile anesthesia for dentistry and lives in Gilbert, AZ with his wife and their four sons.
